My Father's Testimony

I hope you enjoy this testimony of faith in Christ from my father!

I, Robert Wayne Moore, have the confidence that if I were to die today, I would spend eternity in Heaven. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” I John 5:13

If I were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to me, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” I would respond:

Jesus Christ paid the penalty for my sin through his death on the cross. I know that every single person has been born into sin, and sin is a crime against God who is perfectly holy. There is nothing good in me to offer to God. Jesus Christ gave Himself as the sacrifice to save me from God’s eternal wrath. By His grace, I am delivered from death. When I placed all my faith and confidence in Christ, I was born again – brought to new life with the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in me! God has raised Jesus from the dead, and Jesus is Lord.
As best I recall, this took place when I was a child in Tucson, Arizona. When I think about this important event, I remember:

…being raised in a Godly home by parents who were faithful to our local church. When the gospel was explained to me as a child, I knew I needed Christ. I remember learning to love God as my heavenly Father at an early age.
Since I received Christ, I can see God’s hand at work changing me and equipping me for His service in the following ways:

As a young person, God gave me a desire to worship and praise Him. Being called into Christian ministry is a thrill, and I want to see the nations praise Him! With the psalmist, I can say, “sing to the Lord, all the earth” (Psalm 96:1)
God’s hand in my life equips me to love my wife and to faithfully train my children to obey His Word.
I was scripturally baptized by my childhood pastor, Virgil Jones, at Flowing Wells Assembly of God, Tucson, Arizona, in 1968. He was a gentle man of God whose influence the Lord used to bring me to Christ. I am also grateful for the influence of my mother, whose godliness I will never forget, and my grandmother, who bowed her knees to pray for me every day of my life.

My Mother's Testimony

This is my mother's testimony.

I, Christina Marie Moore, have the confidence that if I were to die today, I would spend eternity in Heaven. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” I John 5:13

If I were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to me, “Why should I let you into Heaven?” I would respond:

Because of your love for me, you made a way for me to be with you forever. I knew that sin was a problem and that it separated me from you. I was so happy to understand that Jesus took away my sins by nailing them to the cross. I believe that Jesus was raised from the dead after He won the victory over death and hell. Through Him, I can live and have victory too! I know that I belong to Jesus and have accepted Him as the Lord of my life. I’ve turned away from evil, and I’m now walking with the Lord.

As best I recall, this took place at my grandparents’ home in Troy, Missouri when I was nine years old. When I think about this important event, I remember:

...hearing the evangelist Billy Graham preach on television. I felt that I needed to pray and ask the Lord to forgive my sins and to trust Him for salvation.
Since I received Christ, I can see God’s hand at work changing me and equipping me for His service in the following ways:

As soon as I received the Lord, I noticed that I had a new love for my sister. I also had a desire to hear God’s Word and read it.
I was scripturally baptized at my other grandparents’ church in Holly Springs, Iowa in July, 1969.

Some of the people whom the Lord used to bring me to Christ were my parents and my grandparents.

David's Testimony

As I mentioned in my last post, my family recently worked together to write our Christian testimonies. My brother, David, has posted his testimony on his blog The Moore City News. It encouraged me as I read it, and I know you will enjoy it as well. Go check it out!

Preamble to My Testimony

Hello, Everyone!
Wonderful things have been happening in my life and in the lives of my entire family. We had a refreshing vacation to see my Grandma over her birthday, and I went on a trip to the Rebelution Conference in Dallas with my friend Katie Marie and her mom and friends Rachel and Sarah. We had a great time, so I hope to post some of my notes later on.

My Family worked together this week to write our personal testimonies of faith in Jesus Christ. It was wonderful to spend several hours devoted solely to putting down on paper just what Jesus Christ means to me personally. Unlike a previous school essay where I wrote about who God is and what His attributes are (omniscient, omnipotent, etc), this time I wrote what He means to me personally.

It was amazing to read about the goodness of God and how He miraculously saved us -- me, my dad, mom, sister, and brother. These testimonies are demonstrations of his goodness and faithfulness. They will be a treasure for the rest of my life!

My testimony can't cover every aspect of God or what he means to me -- it is but a small piece of the puzzle. God is much bigger than anything that a mere human can write. He is Awesome.

My Testimony

I, Elizabeth Ellen Moore, have the confidence that if I were to die today, I would spend eternity in heaven. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13

If I were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to me, “Why should I let you into heaven?” I would respond: I have been bought with the saving blood of Jesus Christ. He loved me so much that he willingly paid the penalty for my sin. By His grace I have been made righteous through His death and resurrection. You are my Father, and I am a joint heir with your son Jesus. I love you and joyfully look forward to spending my eternity with you.

As best I recall, this took place among my family as a young child. When I think about this important event, I remember the loving instruction of my parents and the faith that came in my own life from watching them trust in the Lord. We had family devotions and Bible studies daily around the breakfast table and nightly prayers together before going to bed. My mother and father were always available to answer my questions, and they encouraged me to bring both my troubles and joys to God. Using the Bible, they taught me of my inherent sinfulness and the consequences of my actions – but also of the amazing love and grace of Jesus Christ. I grew to love the Lord and trust in His mercy. He became my Father.

Since I received Christ, I can see God’s hand at work changing me and equipping me for His service in the following ways: by molding my character, attitudes, and dreams to His will. My life has been given a purpose. I want to glorify and praise my Heavenly Father and live my entire life for Him. His Holy Spirit continues to convict me of sin, and I am growing daily to be more like Christ. The Bible says that I am His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that I should walk in them. I want to do those things that God has prepared for me and do them entirely for His glory.

I was scripturally baptized by my father in our local congregation of believers as a sign of my new life in Jesus on November 20, 1994 – ten days before my 6th birthday. It has remained one of my fondest memories, and I will remember that day for the rest of my life. God is great!

Some of the people whom the Lord used to bring me to Christ are: my father Robert Wayne Moore Jr., my mother Christina Marie Moore, and my grandmother Jeanette Gray.
