One Thing: Cling

"Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul." Joshua 22:5

Don't let go of your God given convictions.  Hold fast to your relationship with Him by giving ALL of your heart and soul.

I will sing of the steadfast love of the LORD, forever;
with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 89:1

"...cling to Him" implies focus on our part.

I think of a young child who may cling to her parent's hand when walking through a busy city. Do you remember trips into Boston on the commuter train? ...Such a busy city with many dangers and pitfalls for a little girl!

This passage required Israel's full attention upon the laws of God and, hence, His awesome protective love.

If the opposite of "cling to" is to show carelessness in living -- virtually walking away from God -- I don't want to go there.
