It has been about a month since I mailed my application to the Oklahoma Society of Mayflower Descendants for them to forward on to the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. I'm in waiting mode now and trying not to think too much about how long it could take to receive word back on whether or not my application has been accepted. They carefully verify each application and it may take several weeks. I am really excited about making it this far. It is out of my hands now.
Since I am not doing much with my Mayflower line right now, I have moved on to focus on some other things. I have spent some time doing my husband's direct Pruett line. I am amazed by how many generations lived in Oklahoma. My daughter Anna is a 6th generation Oklahoman with the Pruett line alone!
Also, I am doing research on my great grandmother Marjorie Rosenberg -- focusing mostly on her time in Portland Oregon. She moved there sometime after 1914 and was definitely there by 1918. She was 17 years old in 1920 when she was working as a comptometer
operator at the Meier & Frank Co. department store. I am turning up lots of information about Marjorie and her family -- some of which I am not prepared to share here yet.
Yes, I am still slowly working on the project for my great grandparents Beem, and I have dabbled with a bunch of other family lines recently too. Let's just say I am in an endless hobby. There is always more to learn. I won't run out of things to do while waiting to hear back from the GSMD!
